December 17, 2016

The Piano Brothers

Ruth E. Dillon Crosier, 91, of KCK was promoted to Glory on Sat, Dec. 17, 2016.
Ruth was born to William and Muriel (Long) Dillon.  As a woman, Ruth was a pioneer. She joined the United States Army Signal Corps at age 18 where she was assigned to study radio theory in N. Dakota.  She was then transferred to the B25 plant in Fairfax, KS where she was a navigator and helped deliver the completed planes to Los Angeles.  She also received a pilot's license.
When Ruth was 23, she married Edwin Crosier from Metropolis, ILL.  They started their family and Ruth went to KU where she received her Master's degree in education.  She began teaching at Muncie Christian School and then taught in the Piper Unified School District, where she was also a principal.  Upon retiring from Piper, she returned to Muncie where she taught higher level math and algebra classes.  After retiring again, she started and operated her own successful business.
From an early age, Ruth loved to design and create.  Shortly after marriage, she drew up the blueprints for the family home.  Having an intense desire to be an architect, she continued drawing house plans most of her life.

Ruth is survived by her five adult children:  Roy (Mary) Crosier of Warsaw, IN; Diann Crosier of KCK; Timothy Crosier of Meriden, KS; Lois Park of Gladstone, MO; and Sarah Crosier of Nashville, TN.; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers:  David (Rosamary) Dillon, Paul (Connie) Dillon, and Raymond (Lydia) Dillon and their wives, and her sister Edith Dillon.  Ruth also lost her husband Edwin Crosier and a great-grandson.
