Pat graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1953 and became the beloved wife of the late Raymond D Smith in 1955. For 59 years they built a lifetime of memories for their family to cherish and hold dear.
Pat spent over 35 years driving to the Fairfax area where she worked for International Harvester Company and even after retirement continued to work in the same offices for CIN Federal Credit Union. Her work ethic stayed strong as she enjoyed working part time at Kansas Speedway’s Pit Shop and The Wyldewood Cellars Winery.
The saying goes, people will forget what you say, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Her love never knew boundaries or time, it was endless and felt by everyone she came in contact with. Mom was always the first to greet someone with a smile no matter where she was or how she was feeling. She filled our home with love and passed that on to any person that came through the doors. Christmas was always an extra special time for Mom, and she packed everyone with Christmas cookies and joy.
Our family was blessed with a special caregiver, Jennifer Morse. She filled her days with laughter, fun and few honey buns. She cared for her as if she were her own Mother. Even though Mom has left us Jennifer will always be our friend. Mom’s faithful four legged companion Bentley was forever by her side and there’s no match for his endless compassion. Though he can not speak in words, he s lost without her.
Patricia is predeceased by both of her parents Helen and Matthew Crnich, her Husband of 59 years Raymond D Smith, and infant daughter Patty-Ray. She has left to mourn her passing her only sister Virginia Neal, 4 children and their families: Dennis (Vicki) Smith, Denise (RIck) Smarker, Rick (Joni) Smith, and Christie Smith. Seven grandchildren who were the light in her eyes, she loved them all very much and was so proud to be their Grandma. Beth (Shawn)Fields, Lindsay (Nick) Svarczkopf, Blaise (Kate) Smith, Jacob Smarker, Laura Smarker, Katlynn Smith, and Coral Smith-Yowell. She also has seven Great Grandchildren, that brought her more joy and laughter than ever before.
