Obituary

Catherine (Katie) Ann Maderak, died at home, on April 23, 2022.
Katie was preceded in death by her son, Michael Maderak(Renee), her parents, William and Lucy Clark, her brothers, James, Joseph, Harold (Theresa), Gene, and Thomas(Norma) Clark, and her sisters, Mary Noe and Pat (Bob) Elliott.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Maderak, and children Joseph Maderak,II(Mary), Karen Bachnick, Fr.James Maderak,  Jane Bradbury (Dick), Joan Meyers (Mike), and John Maderak. She is also survived by loving grandchildren, Maggie Kenefake (Jerry), Erin Velo (Marc), Ryan Maderak (Therese), Stephen Maderak (Margaret ), Lauren Witebsky ( Scott) Joseph Maderak, III (Suzee), Katelyn O’Daniel, Colleen Bradbury, Shannon Bradbury, Eli Maderak, Haley Meyers, Ellie Meyers, Malorie Maderak, and Sadie Maderak, and 19 great grandchildren.
Born in 1928, Katie was the 5th of 8 children. She was raised in Kansas City, Kansas and attended Bishop Ward and Washington High Schools. She married Joseph  Maderak in 1947; living in “the house that Joe built”, for 72 of their 73 years. Together, they raised seven children. For 30 years, Katie was contract administrator for the family business, Maderak Construction, Inc.
Katie will be remembered for her gracious smile, her dedication to family, her grit and determination, her famous cherry pies and sourdough bread, and her faith in God. Grandma Katie leaves behind of legacy of love, which we will pass on to our future generations.
The family would like to thank her trusted caregivers, Winnie Bridge, Veronica Harris, and Melissa Jones for their commitment to her well being! Their love and humor allowed Katie to stay in her home until she died.

The family will receive friends Saturday, 9:30-11:00 AM., April 30, 2022 at St Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. 66112 with the Mass of Christian Burial to follow.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Ukraine Relief Knights of Columbus or World Craniofacial Foundation.
