Leslie Lee Phelps passed away in his sleep on Friday, February 28th, 2020 at the age of 57.
Lee was born and raised in Kansas City, KS where he graduated from Wyandotte High School. He went on to serve in multiple law enforcement agencies including KCK Community College Campus Police, the Wyandotte County Sheriff's Department, and the Kansas City Kansas Police Department. He loved law enforcement and telling his old police stories whenever he could. After leaving the police department he went on to do what he loved most- fishing, camping, traveling to Florida, volunteering with City Union Mission, and most recently baking and spending quality time with his therapy dog Peggy. Lee loved to give, loved to serve, and loved spending time with those closest to him. He will be greatly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Phelps. He is survived by five siblings, brothers John and William, his sisters Billie Jo, Connie, and Brenda Sue, several nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life for his family and friends will be 10:30 am, Saturday, March 7th, 2020, at the Northwest Bible Church 6520 NW 64th St, Kansas City, MO 64151 with reception to follow.
