Roy E. Wheat

Roy Edward Wheat, age 65, died October 7, 2022 in Kansas City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents AV "Skip" Wheat and Joanne Winters.

Roy is survived by his sister, Renee Wheat Weigel (Steve ), Four Nieces & Nephews: Farrah Brown (Jim), Seth Weigel (Vanessa) , Leah Strydom (Malcolm) , Stephen Weigel (Rachel)  and his 10 great Nieces and Nephews with one on the way.

Roy grew up loving to swim and he swam competitively throughout high school. He was in the Boy Scouts throughout his childhood. He attended St. Peter Elementary, Washington High School and  graduated from KU with a business major. He worked at Wheat Liquors, but most of his career was as an appraiser with the Wyandotte County Appraiser's office. He loved to travel and he especially enjoyed going to the Lake of the Ozarks. He was an avid sports fan but especially loved the Jayhawks and Chiefs. Roy was a loyal friend and didn’t know a stranger. He was genuine and full of happiness. He loved to make others laugh. Wherever Roy was there was bound to be a good time. His motto was: "I love my life and wouldn't change a thing."
