Vincent A. Schuetz

1934 ~ 2022 (age 88)

Obituary

On June 6, 2022, Vincent A. Schuetz joined his loved ones that preceded him in death – his wife Bette Mae and daughters Beverly Ann Mooneyham and Jacquelen Jo Schuetz.

He is survived by his son Vincent Schuetz, Jr. and wife Rebecca, daughter Veronica Buckles and husband Dwight, daughter Gwendolen Wiehe and husband Stan, son-in-law John Mooneyham, ten grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

A lifelong resident of the Kansas City, Kansas area, Vince was an avid golfer, a retired locomotive engineer for the BNSF Railway, and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He lived life well, loved much, and laughed often with his great sense of humor, his welcoming and genuine heart, and his unique ability to meet with courage and fortitude whatever life brought his way – be it hardship or joy.

He was a faithful loving husband, an example of true fatherhood, and a tower of strength and love that his family could run to and depend upon. Never too proud to apologize when necessary, he could always be counted on to do the right thing.

He was a father to the fatherless, a protector and defender of the defenseless, a shelter for those without one, a caregiver to those in need, a mentor to many, and a generous and loyal friend.

To those who knew him and loved him, he was a wonderful example of the following Scriptural description of an honorable man:

Mic 6:8  He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you…  but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

The family will receive friends 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 21, 2022 with memorial mass to follow, 11:00 A.M. at Christ The King Catholic Church, 53rd and Leavenworth Rd., Kansas City, Kansas. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Quivira Rd., Shawnee, Kansas.
